The 13th edition of Mosaïques Festival of World Culture in London presents films from around 15 countries, the programme offers audiences a selection of the most outstanding new World Cinema, and continues to engage leading directors who bring a diverse range of cultures closer to home.

Together with the members of the Arts&Culture meetup we are going to see Shahada, a film in German, English and Turkish with English subtitles. The word Shahada means "to know and believe without suspicion, as if witnessed"; it is the name of the islamic creed.

Berlin, the present. Ishmail, a married police officer of Turkish descent, cracks down on foreign workers but grapples with a strong attraction to an illegal immigrant named Leyla. Sammi is violently torn between his faith's teachings about homosexuality and his true feelings for a male co-worker. Then there is Maryam, the woman who has a story unlike the others... Afghanistan-born director Burhan Qurbani offers a bold feature debut about the lives of three young German-born Muslims living in today's Berlin.
