Bridging Blockchain Eindhoven - 4th Edition
Details
Dear blockchain enthusiasts,
Our next event is right out of the oven and ready for you! The focus will be on blockchain technology and its applications.
This time we are looking under the hood of some major blockchains and learning from top entrepreneurs and self-made developers in the field about how they use blockchain to create value and how they build useful software and services on top.
Of course technology is nothing without applicability in our everyday lives, so we this time we included examples of real world applications of the tech.
What better location for such a technical-oriented event but the Technical University of Eindhoven? We have booked a large room at ‘de Zwarte doos’ on TU/e, with the extra benefit of having the bar ready for mingle + drinks afterward.
You know the drill by now, 3speakers and a lot of interaction opportunities!
We hope to see you all there!

We are currently discussing actual content over which we will inform you as soon as possible. What we can say, is that Joris works as a blockchain consultant helping individuals and companies to take the technology one step further from idea into concept. Stay tuned for more info on this speaker
Speaker 2: Jeffrey Middelbos (https://farmatrust.io/)
Topic: Developing a global tracking system for medical drugs to provide security
Jeffrey Middelbos is the community manager for FarmaTrust. Based on Ethereum, FarmaTrust has built its own Blockchain system that utilises Artificial Intelligence and big data analysis to provide confidence to patients and medical practitioners worldwide, meanwhile increasing efficiencies for pharmaceutical companies.
By background Jeffrey is an IT engineer and works for the `Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam`. Jeffrey is an enthusiastic member of the crypto community and is active on several crypto related forums.
Speaker 3: Wietse Wind (https://wietse.com/)
Topic: Building software on top of the XRP ledger
Wietse is an developer/entrepreneur who has been producing useful and connectable software for many years (see www.wietse.com for more on his work). Within the crypto space he is famous for his contributions in the XRP community (e.g. the XRPTipBot).
Wietse will explain and show us some of his work building software on top of a blockchain ledger.
- Short explanation on a few differences between the XRP ledger and most other crypto's (network/ node, so: topology related)
- Demo on howto connect to a node and work with transactions (using nodejs and docker)
- A few XRP specific functions (e.g. multisig, escrow and XRP’s "smart contract" that are implemented a little different)
Note
Please keep in mind that last time it was very hard for us to calculate how many of you will attend based on the Meetup RSVP. Only if you fill in our registration form and commit to the event you are truly attending. We are a non-profit organisation that puts in much of our own free time and energy to setup these meetups.
We ask for a small fee of € 5 to pay for expenses and future (international) speakers. You can pay cash, but please help us promote cryptocurrencies and pay this fee upfront in one of 5 available cryptos. In the form you can select ‘crypto’ as payment and you will see BTC, LTC, ETH, BCH and DASH payment addresses.
