About us

BucharestJS is joining (and becoming) DevNights

DevNights is a Bucharest-based community for developers, founders, and builders who want to understand, discuss, and build with AI alongside other serious practitioners. DevNights creates curated, discussion-driven rooms where people openly share real workflows, technical decisions, experiments, mistakes, discoveries, and ideas.Ā

Through monthly gatherings, we want to create the kind of environment BucharestJS was always at its best at creating: smart people learning from smart people, challenging each other, building relationships, and getting better together. Technology has changed. The curiosity and community spirit hasn’t.Ā

DevNights is not the end of BucharestJS, but the next chapter of the same mission: to bring great people together so we can learn and grow as one community.

If you were ever part of BucharestJS - whether you gave a talk, attended a meetup, hacked with us at JSHacks, wore one of those glorious T-shirts, or perhaps sponsored one of our editions - I’d love to see you again at the coming events/meetups (limited seats, secure your spot now!) under DevNights umbrella.Ā

And if you’re discovering this community for the first time, welcome. Let’s build the next chapter together with devnights.ai

This one’s about where AI actually belongs in research, and where it quietly does more harm than good. A DevNight is a relaxed evening for developers, founders and builders interested in software and AI. No stage. No long presentations. Just open discussions and people learning from each other. This month: AI in UX Research, from fear to empowerment.

Sasha Luca, a user researcher with 7+ years in web3 (Mezo, Thesis, Consensys), makes a simple case. Researchers lose most of a project to transcribing, tagging and formatting. Stop doing that work by hand, and stop treating AI as the thief coming for your seat. Put it to work instead.

Which research tasks are safe to automate, which ones need a human check, and which stay human for good, the judgment calls, the stakeholder politics, the ethics? Sasha brings a clean way to map any task by risk and complexity, so you know exactly where to let AI run and where to keep your hands on the work.

We’ll start as we always do, by catching up and hearing what everyone’s been building or struggling with lately. From there, we get into the framework and compare where each of us draws the line with AI.

Bring your questions, your experience and anything you’ve learned recently. We respect people who build, experiment and share what they learn. We value curiosity over certainty. We’re figuring this out together. See you at DevNight#10 šŸ¤
