What we’re about
Meetup group for Android developers in Budapest. Join our events, learn more about Android development from great talks, and meet other developers in the local community.
Got a topic to talk about? We're happy to have you! Please note that the context (pun intended) should be relevant for Android developers (but doesn’t have to be strictly about development). Native is preferred over cross-platform, but if you have a good topic about the latter, do not hesitate to submit!
We would like to ask presenters to have the talks in English to be able to reach as many people as possible. Please prepare your presentation to last 30 minutes.
But what's important is that if you have an idea for a talk, but you feel afraid of public speaking, don't be! We would like to ask the members of the community to be inclusive and non-judgemental. When in doubt, refer to our Code of Conduct!

See all- Android Budapest November 2024EPAM Meetup Room, Budapest
Before we get to the holidays and wrap up the year, there’s still time for one more Android meetup for 2024, where you can learn more about the technology and meet fellow Android developers in person.
As usual, we’ll have two great talks to set the mood for the conversations of the evening. The topics this time are both deep dives on project configuration: we’ll hear about organizing code in large applications, and learn how to get the most out of the Android Gradle Plugin.
📜 Schedule:
18:00 - 18:30: Gathering and socializing
18:30 - 19:00: First talk
19:00 - 19:20: Break
19:20 - 19:50: Second talk
19:50 - : More socializing!—
🔷 Modularization of large Android apps - Lajos Nyéki
In this talk, we will explore the challenges faced in large Android applications, including longer build times and coordination issues among multiple development teams. We will discuss how modularization can address these problems by breaking down the application into manageable components. Additionally, we'll delve into techniques for measuring and analyzing module graphs, as well as different types of modularization strategies and levels of separation, to optimize application structure and maintainability.
🔷 Leveraging the Android Gradle Plugin for Efficient Creation of 500+ White Label Apps - Tom Koptel
The Android Gradle Plugin offers a robust set of tools, but automating customizations like version code and name changes, app assets and resources updates, VCS information injection, and AndroidManifest.xml modifications can be challenging. This talk will demystify these processes, providing clear guidance on how to streamline and automate these tasks effectively.
