Nat'l Waterfall day HIKE & Happy Hour @ Windy Run pk (Arlington VA)

Celebrate National Waterfall day on this ~2mile moderate 'T-hike' that has uneven terrain & rocky water crossings. The trek wanders through the woodland en route to Windy Run Falls, a cataclysmic ~35ft cascade. After frolicking at the Falls the hike first continues upstream then turns downstream, with both termini viewing the Potomac River as well as the Key bridge. Latter of the circuit, though briefly, STEEPLY & ALMOST VERTICALLY ASCENDS the landscape before traversing a ridge, observing the Stream- Valley below. Highlights include a stony staircase, a risky rope swing, & a benign beach. A waterfall worth chasing!
