About The Hatchery Place
The Hatchery Place is a very small in-home creative coworking + coliving space. It is actually in a residential home, a terrace house located at residential area USJ 11. Kevin (woodworker) and Elaine (artist) were both corporate quitters and growth-oriented creative souls who started The Hatchery Place in February 2016, at first to escape the cubicle world, but now the space has evolved into an inspiring little community where traveling creatives share and exchange their skills, cultures and experiences with the locals.
During the day, the space is a shared coworking space and at night, turns in to a shared coliving space. A cozy, fun, homey, and creative work space and heart-centered friendship incubator for our travelers, writers, bloggers, digital-nomads, crafters, poets, makers, musicians, artists, yogis, videographers, healers and anyone else interested in stretching the boundaries of themselves to include trusting strangers. In the weekends, creative workshops and events are run.
We also host small art & craft events, workshops, meetup nights, healing circles, food and drink tastings, talks, poetry nights and more here. Regular activities we run here are drum circles, painting workshops, gardening workshops, woodworking workshops, creative meetups, & etc. Coffee/tea/cold drinks and snacks are sold at the mini snack bar.

- Community Book Sharing: Self Compassion (RM30)The Hatchery Place (A Coworking + Coliving Space for Conscious Creatives), Subang Jaya$7.00
Many of us are really good at being compassionate to others but not so much to ourselves.
We often judge ourselves harshly. We beat ourselves up over what we think are our failures. We decide that we're not good enough.
All these perceptions can mess with how well we do things and how happy we feel. It can cause us to have feelings of low self-worth or experience depression.
In Kristin Neff's book, Self Compassion, she explains the 3 core elements of self compassion. She also shares how we can be kind to ourselves, how to feel connected to others and how to stay aware of the present moment without being too critical.
During this Community Book Sharing, Ai Jou from Revitalize Books will be sharing the summarised facts of this book and host a discussion around the same theme. It's not necessary for you to read the book first, as the facts will be shared through a brief presentation.
This bookish gathering also allows you to connect with other readers who have similar non-fiction interests. Feel free to bring or suggest similar books, and invite your friends along!
You’ll get to:
📖 Listen to a sharing about a book from the chosen theme
📖 Meet other people who are into self-development
