7:00 PM – Ghoomar & Terah Taal
Experience two iconic traditions from Rajasthan.
Ghoomar is a graceful women's folk dance known for its elegant spins, flowing skirts, and celebratory spirit. Traditionally performed during festivals and weddings, Ghoomar emphasizes beauty, poise, and community.
Terah Taal is one of Rajasthan's most fascinating folk arts, featuring rhythmic percussion played with manjira (small cymbals) attached to the body. Students will learn foundational rhythms and movements inspired by this unique tradition.
8:00 PM – Kalbeliya & Chari
Explore the energy and excitement of Rajasthan's most famous dance styles.
Kalbeliya (Cobra Gypsy Dance) is Rajasthan's mesmerizing snake-inspired dance tradition. Originating within the Kalbeliya community, this UNESCO-recognized folk dance is known for its fluid, serpentine movements, dramatic spins, intricate footwork, and expressive gestures that capture the grace and energy of a cobra.
Chari Dance is a joyful folk dance traditionally performed with decorative pots balanced on the head. Students will learn foundational balancing techniques, posture, and movements inspired by this festive village tradition.
9:00 PM – Bhangra
Finish the evening with high-energy fun!
Originating in the Punjab region, Bhangra is known for its infectious rhythms, powerful movements, and uplifting spirit. This energetic dance provides a fantastic workout while celebrating one of India's most beloved folk traditions.

💃About Katrina Ji
Katrina Ji is a Los Angeles-based performer, teacher, and cultural ambassador who has spent more than 25 years studying the folk dance traditions of Rajasthan directly from the communities where they originated. She is recognized as one of the few foreign artists to have mastered a wide range of authentic Rajasthani folk dance forms, including Kalbeliya, Ghoomar, Chari, Bhawai, Bicycle Wheel Dance, and Terah Taal.
Through performances, workshops, and cultural programs, Katrina Ji shares the beauty, history, and spirit of India's living folk traditions while making them accessible and enjoyable for modern audiences. Her teaching style is supportive, encouraging, and perfect for beginners.
