This Meetup group is run by the Veg Society of DC (VSDC), 7/19/22.
The Veg Society of DC hosts the events and pays the Meetup fee. You do not have to be a member of VSDC to participate in our events, but we encourage you to join. All of our events are vegan and we have a lot of fun! Membership enables you to enjoy members-only benefits like receiving discounts from our GreenRewards participating partners.
VSDC is a completely volunteer-run organization, with no paid staff. and is governed by an elected volunteer Board of Directors.
Founded in 1927, the Veg Society of the District of Columbia (VSDC) is the nation’s oldest continuously operating 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization promoting an all-plant diet and vegan lifestyle through education, community-building, and social activities throughout the DC metro area.
VSDC believes in treating all people, animals, and the planet with respect and kindness. We are committed to creating a more compassionate and caring world.
We do this by creating a community of like-minded people who are on the path to an all-plant diet and vegan lifestyle. Whoever you are, and wherever you are on this path, we offer resources and fellowship to support you. We make your journey easier, more enjoyable and meaningful.

Please join the Veg Society of DC for the kick-off DC Veg Restaurant Week 2024 at DC Vegan's beautiful Botanical Bar!
VSDC is proud to partner with DC Veg Restaurant Week (DCVRW) and DC Vegan to celebrate opening night of DCVRW, which runs from May 6-12th, with scores of area vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants participating.
The Botanical Bar will be rolling out a special zero proof DC Veg Restaurant Week cocktail for the occasion and we will have a vegan trivia contest - with prizes!
There is no fee to attend but PLEASE DO purchase an entree and drinks from the Botanical Bar or grab a bite from the DC Vegan cafe upstairs - everything is vegan!
Both DC Vegan Cafe and the Botanical Bar are VSDC GreenRewards members so show your VSDC member card and get 10% off on food and beverages.

Join VSDC for the Black Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC) Night of the DC Veg Restaurant Week on Thursday, May 9, at Binge Bar in DC.
Veg-curious or vegan, join the DC Veg Restaurant Week BIPOC Mixer, a vibrant gathering celebrating plant-based cuisine and community connection within the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community. Indulge in delectable vegan dishes from Binge Bar showcasing the diversity and creativity of plant-based cuisine while enjoying their signature non-alcoholic cocktails.

- VSDC Vegan Trekkers: Great Falls 9.1 mile loop hikeGreat Falls Visitor Center, McLean, VA
Join us for a moderate, but long, hike in Great Falls National Park! We'll view the breathtaking falls from three different overlooks on the Virginia side of the river.
Expect a relatively speedy pace, rocky and uneven terrain with minimal elevation gain. You should be able to hike for long distances without break for at least an hour, as well as comfortably scramble over rocks and negotiate uneven surfaces. Please wear sturdy shoes/boots and appropriate clothing. And pack a lunch which we will eat picnic-style halfway through the hike.

Parking fee: $20.00 (buy in advance), or free if you have an annual pass
Meeting Time: 9:00 am
Distance: 9.1 miles

Yes, please keep your dog leashed. Dogs are the sole responsibility of the owner(s) who brought them; should be up-to-date on their vaccinations & in possession of the relevant tags; and should be under the control of their owner(s) at all times. Dogs that demonstrate consistently aggressive or otherwise out-of-control behavior will be banned from future hikes. Owners should come prepared to dispose ofBathroom Facilities/Water?
The Visitors Center has bathroom facilities.
Food: Bring your own vegan snack and (non-alcoholic) beverage to enjoy mid-hike. There are no trash receptacles on the trail so pack out your own waste.Update Your RSVP
