UX Wizards Bay Area

Join for a social walk around Alviso.

We'll meet near the parking lot, by the bathrooms, and leave 10 mins after event start (so 5:40), to allow for any latecomers. Please do your best to be on time- If you're late in theory you can walk quickly to catch up with the group as we go pretty slowly.

Plan & Distance:
We will walk along the waterfront, (down and then left) for 35 mins out and then 35 mins back for approx 1hr 10 mins total walk time. It will most likely be around 2 miles- we'll walk at a slow and leisurely pace where you can definitely talk, and take photos at a few spots if anything seems interesting, sometimes there are birds and bugs.

Timing:
• 5:30: Meet in parking lot, by bathrooms
• 5:40: Start walk
• 6:15: Turn around, walk back
• 6:40 Arrive back at parking lot

Bring:
- Water
- A hat
- Comfortable shoes

Hi Wizards,
A few of us are attending and volunteering at this event, if you are interested it is at Sharks Ice and there will be some cool robots on the ice!

There's also a cosy bar upstairs with a good view of the event. Some wizard kids will be in attendance too, this is a children-friendly event!

What's happening:

Robot play zone
An open sandbox where humanoids, quadrupeds, and custom-built machines of all shapes navigate the ice in real time.

Robot races
Head-to-head races across the ice — may the most stable bot win.

RC hands-on racing
Take the controls yourself and see how your driving skills hold up on a frozen rink.

Robotics networking
Hang out rinkside with fellow roboticists, makers, students, and enthusiasts from across the Bay Area.
