About us
This is a group for anyone interested in learning more about UX. I started this group to meet other UX enthusiasts in my area, and because I felt that most of the UX meetups I'd been attending were in San Francisco, and I was meeting more UX designers from San Jose who had also made the journey north! Things I'm hoping to accomplish by starting this group: \- Opportunity for peer review \(ie: bring your portfolios or work and we'll take time giving you honest feedback\) \
\- Opportunity for mentorship \(maybe you are a mentor\! maybe you are a mentee\!\) \- Place where you can bounce ideas around \- Place for potentially finding employers/talent

We're a community of nearly 8,000 (!!) designers, builders, and creative professionals, and we run on the energy of people who show up and make things happen. We're powered by volunteers who are genuinely invested in building something great.
We host speaker series, craft nights, career events, job seeker support, and more, all built and shaped by volunteers.Whether you're new to the community or you've been around for a while and want to go deeper, this 30-minute Zoom call is a low-key way to hear about open roles, ask questions, and figure out if volunteering is a good fit.
What we'll cover:
- What UX Wizards is and where we're headed
- Current volunteer roles and what they actually involve
- Time commitments (spoiler: we try to keep it realistic and avoid burnout!)
- How to get started
No advance prep needed, just join if you're volunteer-curious!

We're going to try to get some co-working done this week and wanted to extend the invite to anyone that was able to join.We just plan on meeting up with our laptops and work our own stuff, maybe chat a bit too. All UX enthusiasts are welcome. :)
We're meeting at the open/indoor seating atrium (big greenhouse thing near the old truck!) next to Playback Coffee in San Pedro's Square.

There is ample parking around downtown San Jose, although it is often paid parking. We have some good coffee options, inside and nearby San Pedro Square, and we'll use the atrium next to Playback Coffee as our meeting spot, there are lots of tables.Kez & Jason will be your hosts for this week!
Our table is usually near the vintage truck, which you can see in the window of the photo.
