Human Centred Design (HCD) UAE, formerly User Experience (UX) UAE, was born from Designers new to the region and wanting to share experiences and grow the UAE Design community. The mission of this meetup is for Designers to get together and talk about best practices and emerging techniques in Human Centred Design. We welcome people from all backgrounds interested in design. We meet as often as we can and in the spirit of further education set an optional reading component from a book related to the topic of discussion. Details of the books read and the upcoming reading list will be published in advance. You can be ensured of a lively discussion on all things design.

Our panelists:

Dr Rebecca Steingiesser

Dr. Rebecca is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience. She holds a Doctorate from The University of Western Australia, is dual-registered with AHPRA, and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Currently based at King’s College London Hospital in Dubai, Dr. Rebecca works with children, adolescents, and adults. She specialises in neuropsychological and psycho-educational assessments and provides therapy for mood disorders, self-harm, chronic pain, eating disorders, addictions, and more.

With expertise in conditions such as dementia, brain injuries, ADHD, and stroke, Dr. Rebecca adopts a systems-based approach, tailoring interventions to each client’s unique needs. She is committed to creating a supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Heba ‎Issa:

Heba specialises in the intersection of strategic design innovation and foresight, focusing on creating a better tomorrow through intelligent and sustainable solutions. With a passion for smart city development and smart government initiatives, her expertise lies in guiding organisations through the complexities of modern public service design.
