What we’re about

We are a community of atheists who aim to encourage use of the scientific method, champion the application of rationality and reason, and work towards the separation of church and state. We aim to make the world a better place.

Sydney Atheists, are an active atheist resource for the people of Sydney, and an open, friendly and welcoming community for atheists and atheist-friendly people. We also provide a sanctuary for those who have escaped various religions.

We get together to celebrate life and have fun, with social gatherings and talks.

We meet on the second Friday of the month for Talks on the second floor at Club Redfern. We cover topics such as Atheism, Religions, Philosophy, Psychology, Science and Technology to name just a few. On the fourth Thursday of the month on the second floor of Castlereagh Boutique Hotel at 169 Castlereagh Street in the city we hold our Open Social and Sydney Atheists Young Adults groups.  We also have suburban and regional social gatherings.

Our community comes from many backgrounds and age groups and have various interests. Come join us. We look forward to meeting you.
