What we’re about
Welcome to the Gay and Lesbian Sierrans (GLS), a friendly, relaxed LGBTQ+ group that enjoys outdoor adventures and camaraderie. Since 1996, we have offered a variety of outdoor activities such as day hikes of varying intensity, bike rides, camp trips and social gatherings. We are an "activity section" of the Sierra Club's Mother Lode chapter centered in Sacramento, CA. Our outings are led by Sierra Club certified leaders for your safety and enjoyment. We hope to encourage your participation in, and appreciation of the outdoors and help you make new friends in a comfortable atmosphere. There are generally no costs for outings, besides sharing expenses such as entrance or camping fees. All adults are welcome on our outings and you do not need to be a member of the Sierra Club, though we'd appreciate that (sierraclub.org , click "Join" at upper right).
We do not currently ask for GLS membership dues, but if you would like to help with a voluntary donation, it's easy to do online with just a credit card. Please go to GLS's PayPal donation page:
