Visualization of multivariate data — a talk at the FJS
Oskar-Morgensternplatz 1, 1090 Wien, Wien, ATOur co-organizer Ursula Laa will be giving a talk orgranized by the Young Statistician Forum (FJS), and you are welcome to join! Expect a technical tour of visualisation tools for multivariate and high-dimensional data in R with practical examples!
ℹ️ Abstract
Statistical graphics are central to exploring and modeling complex data. As dimensionality increases, uncovering structure and dependencies becomes more challenging. This presentation gives an overview of practical tools for visualizing multivariate data, from strategic use of scatterplots and scatterplot matrices to linear and nonlinear projection methods. Special emphasis will be placed on tour methods—animated sequences of linear projections—that reveal clustering, outliers, and nonlinear relationships. All graphics will be demonstrated in R, with code to reproduce the results.🗺️ Location
