Going to the movies used to be a thing I did by myself. But lately I've rediscovered how much fun it is to go with friends and to talk about it with them afterwards. So, here we are!
Providence Movie Club is a group where we'll go to a movie and then grab a drink after it's over to hang out and chat. I'm pretty omnivorous with my movie taste, so one week we could see something at the Avon, and the next be front and center at Morbius. Post-movie will change as well and hit bars, coffee shops, breweries, boba tea places, etc.
Don't worry about being a film expert or anything. I imagine conversations will go like most book clubs where you talk about the book for seven minutes and then everyone drops it.

See all- Movie Club Mixer at Kimi'sKimi’s, Providence, RI
Due to reasons outside our control, the mixer at Juniper on the 15th had to be canceled. But don't worry, all is not lost! We're switching gears and heading back to an old Movie Club favorite, Kimi's! We had our first screening there, and we even had our first mixer there. Luckily they came through in my time of need and offered to host us for June.
As a reminder, there's no movie portion with the mixers. It's just a space to socialize and meet other people.
The event will start at 7:00pm at Kimi's on Sunday, June 29th. It'll end at 10:00pm. I'll have a pile of name tags on a table for everyone to help differentiate who's there for the mixer and who's just there. Kimi's offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. There are also different things to do within the venue. You can hang out by the fire pit, take a booth and chat, or play a board game. Hope to see you there!

Last time we had a mixer at Ogie's, it was in November and frankly kind of cold. (My bad.) So I'd been wanting to go back there for another mixer, but in a warmer month so we could really enjoy the outdoor patio. Now we have that chance! Our mixer for July will be at the iconic Ogie's Trailer Park.
These events are a great way to familiarize yourself more with the group and its members. As a reminder, there is no pre-movie portion, only the socializing part. Old members, new members, and anyone who has wanted to check out the club is welcome!
The event will start at Ogie's at 7:00pm on Wednesday, July 9th. It'll go on as long as people are around, though the official end time will be 10:00pm. I'll have a pile of name tags on a table for everyone to help differentiate who's there for the mixer and who's just there. Ogie's has alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, as well as a bunch of delicious food available.
