Global AI Manila

Global AI Construct is a hands-on workshop format from the Global AI Community where participants build AI agents from scratch, together. No slides, no spectators, just tools, peers, and something real to ship by the end of the session.

Prerequisites
As this is a hands-on workshop, please bring your laptop and have the following installed:
1. Latest version of Visual Studio Code
2. Python 3.12 or higher

What You'll Build
In this session, you will create an AI agent that converts technical content into executive-ready summaries. Using the Microsoft Agent Framework and Foundry Toolkit for VS Code, you will learn how to build, configure, and test AI agents locally without requiring access to Microsoft Foundry or Azure resources.

The workshop covers the complete agent development lifecycle—from creating your project and defining agent behavior, to local testing and deployment to Microsoft Foundry using a managed container environment.

By the end of the session, you will have:

• Created an AI agent using the Microsoft Agent Framework
• Used the Foundry Toolkit for VS Code to accelerate development
• Configured agent instructions and behavior
• Tested and validated your agent locally
• Deployed your agent to Microsoft Foundry
• Generated executive-level summaries from technical content
• Gained a foundation for building more advanced AI agents
