What we’re about

The Southwest Florida Permaculture Guild is made up of people interested in permaculture concepts ranging from food forestry to sustainable communities and more.

You don't need any knowledge or experience with permaculture, just a mind open to being a part of the solution and working to transition towards sustainability.

What is Permaculture?

While permaculture is a broad subject, for the purpose of this group, think of permaculture as creating edible gardens that mimic and work with nature in a sustainable manner. The three core ethics of permaculture are:

Care of the earth: Provision for all life systems to continue and multiply.

Care of the people: Provision for people to access those resources necessary for their existence.

    Return of surplus:
By governing our own needs, we can set resources aside to further the above principles. This ethic was originally stated as "setting limits to population and consumption."

The ultimate goal of this group is to help inspire others to practice permaculture in an effort to transition our society to a sustainable one.
