First Coast Freethought Society

First Coast Freethought Society, Inc. (FCFS) is a nonprofit community for atheists, agnostics, humanists, skeptics, and others who value reason, science, critical thinking, and a secular worldview. We have served the nonreligious community of Northeast Florida since 1998 and are the Jacksonville chapter of the American Humanist Association.

This Meetup page is one way FCFS announces events and connects with people in the community. Joining this Meetup group does not make you a member of First Coast Freethought Society, Inc. FCFS is a separate nonprofit membership organization. Our meetings and activities are open to the public, and you do not need to be an FCFS member to attend.

FCFS provides a place for people to meet, learn, exchange ideas, and build community outside of religion. Our activities include guest speakers, educational programs, discussions, dinners, book groups, social gatherings, and other events exploring science, philosophy, humanism, skepticism, current events, and issues of interest to the nonreligious community.

We support secular humanist values, the use of reason and evidence in evaluating claims, and the constitutional separation of church and state. We also provide community and support for people who are questioning religion, have left religious traditions, or simply want to spend time with others who share a secular worldview.
