Details

Developer: "It works on my machine"; QA: "It passed QA" but it breaks in Production.

A familiar tale.

Docker is a tool that can help. Docker allows you to package your Linux app into a Docker container. This container can then be run on any Linux host running kernel 3.8 or above (RHEL 6.5 also supported).

In this talk, I demo creating a Docker container and managing its lifecycle.

The same Docker image I create in Development can be deployed to Production with no changes.

UPDATE

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your interest as well as your RSVP for this upcoming meetup on Docker. Unfortunately, our speaker has an unexpected change in his schedule and is unable to make it for the meetup, so we are going to cancel this Docker meetup for August.

He has kindly made available the deck for the planned meetup here (https://speakerdeck.com/siuyin/managing-docker-containers) and the corresponding screencast can be viewed here (http://youtu.be/Y6jRcdhsL6s) as well.

We hope to see you again at future DevOps meetups!

Regards,
Your friendly DevOps Singapore team
