No wave, post-punk wonk-funk 4-piece from London utilising sax, bass, drums and a noise guitar (or two) with vocals and vocational keyboard. With angular and danceable songs of toxic dirt and lust, SPeW have been likened to The Raincoats, X-Ray Spex, Bush Tetras, The Lounge Lizards and Lydia Lunch. The band feature Gardyloo Spew (A-Band, I Am Meat) on vocals, sax, guitar & keys, MJ Ultra (Shock Headed Peters, The Long Decline) on bass, Cos Chapman (Rude Mechanicals, Alternative TV) on guitar & backing vocals and Dave Morgan (Weather Prophets, Alternative TV) on drums.

Machine Learning is a FREE night of Experimental Electronic Music bought to you by the BEMOM (Brighton Electronic Music Open Mic) collective.

There will be experimental performances by BEMOM regulars - trying out new material, often on new equipment.

Come along and join in the fun - this is an all inclusive event - of course! everyone is welcome.

There will be 7 confirmed acts + 2 Open mic slots for anyone turning up on the night - this will all be followed by a DJ set to end the evening.

Helen Anahita Wilson is back at The Rose Hill after her incredible solo piano performance last year. This time she presents new 'plant-based compositions’.

What DOES that mean? Plants have bioelectrical (electricity) currents which run through them and She has been experimenting with monitoring them in different ways to turn them into music. Her recent work ‘linea naturalis’ uses plants with medicinal and healing properties.

Rosie Carr Artist and gardener made debut album ‘yew’ over two years whilst training in horticulture in the Essex countryside. Her music has been described as “tudorgaze” and “Burial meets Springwatch”. “Tape loops sampled from medieval cassettes found in charity shops in Essex, euphoric waves of distortion gleaned from field recordings and homemade instruments, and improvised responses on harp and violin.”
