About us

The Bay Area Python Interest Group (BAyPIGgies) was formed in July 1999. Although we use MeetUp.com for advertising to new members, our governance and main communication happens at https://baypiggies.net/ and https://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/baypiggies.

Code of Conduct is here: https://www.bapya.org/coc

We typically meet the fourth Thursday of every other month from 7:00pm - 9:00pm (except between October and December where we make special arrangements to accommodate the PyBay Conference and the holidays).

We are always looking for new speakers - you don't have to be an expert programmer, we welcome all levels. If you would like to give a talk - fill out this form: https://bit.ly/bapyacfp

Feel free to reach out to our current organizers (Karen Dalton, Bill Deegan, Mike Purtell and Chris Brousseau) if you have any questions or would like help preparing to give a talk. Also - BayPiggies is always in need of new sponsors to host our events. If you and your company can help - reach out to our current organizers if you would like to host.
