San Diego WordPress Meetup (formerly AWP) is a local meetup group dedicated to sharing topics in the WordPress ecosystem and beyond. We aim to provide an environment that fosters the opportunity for beginners to learn and grow their skills, as well as deepen them further for the more experienced users.
Join us for presentations that range from theme design and graphics, to plugin development, to content and SEO, to freelancing tips... the sky's the limit for our eclectic group!
If you're actively working on WordPress projects come down and share what you've been working on during our round-table discussions. Or network to find new jobs and projects!

Black Friday & Cyber Monday in WordPress
Ansir Coworking, 7670 Opportunity Rd #255, San Diego, CA, USWe’re keeping the momentum going with another San Diego WordPress Meetup in November! This month’s theme is Black Friday & Cyber Monday in WordPress. It’s a chance to prepare for the busiest shopping weekend of the year, swap strategies, and share the best deals on plugins, themes, and hosting. Whether you run your own WordPress site, an online store, manage client sites, or just love hunting down WordPress bargains, this session will be interactive and fun.
I am scheduling this meetup now, and will learn a lot about the flow during the upcoming October meetup, so the format may change. Food and drinks will be provided. If you cannot arrive right at 6:00, that’s OK, but please plan to be there by 6:30 when we kick things off. Space is limited to 30 attendees, so RSVP now to reserve your spot.
6:00 to 6:30 PM: Pre-Networking and WordPress Help Desk

6:30 to 6:40 PM: Welcome

6:40 to 7:10 PM: Lightning Talks (15 minutes each)

- Possible topics: WooCommerce prep, holiday marketing strategies, caching tips, or creative promotion ideas
- Speakers should prepare slides or demos to keep the group engaged
- Each talk: ~12 minutes presentation, ~3 minutes Q&A
7:10 to 7:50 PM: WordPress Deals Roundup (Interactive Session)
- Time will flex based on lightning talks
- Hosted by Devin Walker
- Curated overview of the best BF/CM deals for plugins, themes, and hosting
- Community share: attendees highlight past or upcoming deals they’ve found (lifetime licenses, big discounts, free hosting perks, etc.)
- Discussion on how to evaluate deals: real value vs. hype
