Alternate Weapons Study - Rapier/smallsword

Attending Alternate Weapons sessions require that you have participated in all 4 Introduction to Longsword Fencing courses.

Basic concepts and work from both Italian and German Rapier sources and French and English smallsword. These sessions are a mixture of drills, instruction and low intensity sparring,

The activity level will require comfortable, athletic appropriate clothing and footwear, and a bottle of water is never a bad idea.

If you own appropriate equipment, you may bring and use it. Limited loaner gear is available, so RSVP is a hard limit at this time.

IMPORTANT NOTES

1. "Street Shoes" are not permitted in the gym due to road salt, water and other issues, please bring a change of shoes with you, change in the lobby area before you enter the gym.

2. Enter through the main door only, even if the garage doors are open. This minimizes disruption of other events or classes.

3. YHF operates on the "common sense" standard. Don't show up if you yourself are ill. If you are concerned about any variety of disease or ailment which could pass to you should you interact with other humans, stay home.

4. If you utilize club equipment, then your pricing per session is $10. Members who have their own equipment (mask + weapon + gloves) are priced at $5 per session.

Weekly Longsword Session

Attending the Weekly Group sessions require that you have participated in all 4 Introduction to Longsword Fencing courses. These sessions delve into the source material, and are structured to include drills as well as instructional material

The activity level will require comfortable, athletic appropriate clothing and footwear, and a bottle of water is never a bad idea.

If you own HEMA appropriate equipment, you may bring and use it, subject to instructor approval.
