What we’re about
Digital DeLand is the new Tech DeLand.
We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 6-8 pm at various locations. Check the digitaldeland facebook page for current locations. We frequently meet at the Abbey Bar DeLand, located at 117 North Woodland Blvd, DeLand 32720 but sometimes at Stetson and other venues so be sure to check before each meeting.
The purpose of Digital DeLand is to help people and organizations (businesses, nonprofits or government) in West Volusia make better use of technology to accomplish their goals. After Tech DeLand was dormant, it was restarted and voted to be renamed as Digital DeLand. Please come and see what we're about! Help shape the organization and make it work effectively to help you accomplish your goals,
For many of us, as individuals or as part of organizations, our goals include making West Volusia better, stronger, more livable, affordable, enjoyable, equitable and sustainable. For man, this may mean working closer to home, spending less time and money commuting, or investigating alternate forms of mobility. For others, it will mean protecting our fragile environment and water supplies, while others may be focused on personal well-being or social issues. We’ll be considering ways technology can be harnessed to advance these shared goals too.
We are seeking your opinions, recommendations and assistance. To be involved simply join the group stating your tech interests and other information that might be relevant. New members will be sent a welcome message. If you wish to be registered for a particular tech specialty – whether interested, expert or potential speaker – please let us know to be added to our database.
