Aloha Serv Labbers!

Our next event will focus on the world of health and behavioural science! We have 4 great speakers bringing very different perspectives to the conversation. We will be hearing about integrating behavioural science into the design process, empathy and burn outs in healthcare professionals, brain and body processes that impact human behaviour and will close the session hearing about the world’s first LGBTQIA+ mental wellbeing platform.

We wanted to try something a little different this time round so this will be a mainly talking event with no slides. We are aware that many of us are looking at screens all day currently so we wanted to see if joining an event whilst on a walk or whilst making dinner etc might work well for our community, we look forward to hearing your feedback!

Speakers and talk outlines:

Dr Rosie Webster is Lead User Researcher at Babylon Health & Behavioural Scientist. Rosie has a PhD in Health Psychology, and over 10 years' experience of conducting health research, across academia, the charity sector, and digital health companies. Rosie will outline how she has been using behavioural science at Babylon Health, to improve the impact they have on people's health, about integrating behavioural science into the design process, and the challenges this brings.

Dr. Lasana Harris is an Associate Professor at Experimental Psychology, University College London. Lasana will talk about the regulation of empathy in medical professionals via flexible social cognition. He will tell us more about behavioural evidence linking empathy, mentalising processes and burnout in healthcare professions, as well as causal evidence that the social context can determine whether empathy impacts behaviour.

Dr. Silja Voolma is a behavioral designer with 10+ years of experience in researching, designing and advocating for digital health innovation and leads the research and design consultancy Behavioral Design Global. Silja will talk us through brain and body processes that impact human behaviour, preferences and beliefs that go beyond the thinking mind and into the body.

Charlotte Fountaine, co-founder & CPO of Kalda, the world’s first LGBTQIA+ mental wellbeing platform that provides weekly mindfulness sessions and daily peer support. Charlotte will talk about how and why they started Kalda, their biggest challenges and future dreams. The Kalda team will also close the event with some reflective mindful moments to set us to our evenings.
