The San Diego Corgi Meetup

The House of England in Balboa Park has invited our corgis to be honorary guests at their festival at the International Cottages. We have attended in the past and had a great time!

We'll gather behind the House of England (under the trees) by 1:45pm and then make our grand entrance and parade around the cottage grounds just after 2pm ( please wait behind the House of England Cottage until we have all gathered and are ready to all parade out together).

If you have your Union Jack bandanas from last time, please remember to bring them.

Come join us at the brand new Tail Wag Resorts, located in Escondido, CA! We will have full use of Leap Land and Sniff Safari areas, to run and explore. Then at 11:00am, we'll have corgi races! Sign up at the welcome table (where you will also sign the standard liability release waiver); the number of heats will depends on the number of corgis attending, then the winner of each heat will run in the final race.
Our hosts ask that all pups be vaccinated against rabies and bordatella. Also, please leash your pup when moving from Leap Land to Sniff Safari. The entire resort is fenced, but the leashing between areas is an added measure of safety.
We are welcome to bring snacks, which will be near the parking and away from pilfering low-riders, so feel free to bring some snacks to share if you wish.
Please rsvp if you can by May 11th so our hosts can be prepared for the corgi brigade! The RSVP is per vehicle, due to parking limitations, so feel free to bring as many dogs/people as your car can hold. Carpooling is encouraged!
This is going to be a lot of fun. We can't wait to see you there!

There has been a few requests for herding instinct evaluations. There is a place in the San Pasqual Valley (near the Safari Park) that is offering us group evaluations. The cost per dog would be $50 and we would need a minimum of 20 participants (maximum 24).

Please RSVP based on the number of DOGS to be tested. Each dog gets about 10 minutes in the pen, so about 4 dogs will be seen per hour. We will start at 8am, so depending on the number of dogs, we may be going as late as 2pm. Plan for a long, but fun, day!
