There are many misunderstood facets of owning and operating an electric car. Mark Hughes will be here for our May meeting to bust some myths for us.
Mark Hughes is a mechanical engineer who spent his career in the power generation industry enabling the burning of coal, oil, and natural gas. A combustion co-dependent, one might say. But, then he learned about climate change. He sold his 1971 Chevelle SS454 (10 miles to the gallon) for a succession of ever more efficient cars and he and his wife now both drive Teslas. In addition, their all-electric house is powered by a PV array sufficient for both the house, the cars, and some of their neighbors. Change, in other words, is possible.
