Karissa Blunck is an International Award-Winning Photographer and Restoration Artist from Olympia, WA. Born in Seattle, Karissa began her journey as a photographer at three years old, documenting her life on film. By the time she turned seven, she was entering her work and winning ribbons in county fairs.
Competing professionally since age sixteen, Karissa has received awards across various categories including restoration, fine art, commercial, nature, portrait, and wedding photography. Honors include 3rd Place Restoration Grand Imaging Award from PPA, Kodak Gallery Award, Fuji Masterpiece, PPA’s Imaging Excellence and a variety of Best of Trophies. Most recently, Best Portrait of a Woman and Best Digital Artist Portrait from PPW. A highlight of her career is proudly representing Team USA in the Commercial Category at the 2023 World Photographic Cup.
Discovering her passion for photographic restoration in high school, Karissa has spent the last 13 years refining her skills and teaching other photographers the art of restoration. She studied photography and art history at South Puget Sound Community College and The Evergreen State College, earning degrees from both institutions.
Karissa is a member of the photography associations Professional Photographers of America, Professional Photographers of Washington and Oregon Professional Photographers Association. Karissa has earned Master of Photography, Master Artist, and Photographic Craftsman degrees from PPA, along with the Fellow of Photography degree from PPW.
Karissa and her mother, Kari J. Stuckey, run Studio K Portraits, a full-service portrait studio in Olympia, WA. They specialize in senior portraits, family portraits, weddings, business portraits, pet portraits, and photographic restoration. In addition to her craft, Karissa volunteers as the Social Media Manager for PPW, earning recognition as Volunteer of the Year in 2022 and the esteemed PPA National Award in 2023. Beyond photography, she is also known for her talents as an artist, musician, and radio DJ.
