Chris Apfel, MD, PhD, MBA
​Dr. Chris Apfel is the President and CEO of SageMedic Corp. He co-founded SageMedic with his wife, Dr. Brigitte Apfel, after several of their family members were touched by cancer. Chris is a physician-scientist, board member, and an active angel investor and of over a dozen early stage life-science companies. He is recognized as an international authority on designing, conducting, and publishing clinical trials that have changed medical practice. For example, he is the developer of the “Apfel Score,” a standard tool that has changed clinical practice world-wide. He is a California-licensed physician and received his MD and his doctoral degree in medical sciences from the University of Giessen, Germany, and his MBA from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania.

9.50—11.50 am : Startups Pitch their Innovation to a Panel of VC’s and Angels.
11.50 ---12.15 pm: Email introduction to an Investor based on best fit leading to one meeting after the event.
Instructions:
Step 1: We will connect you with someone from UC Berkeley Global’s Marketing team at the beginning of the week who will make sure that the zoom connection between your laptop and our System is working.
Step 2: We will allocate you a 10 minutes slot between 9.50 am and 10.50 pm PST. You get 8 mins to Present+ 2 mins Q&A plus, 15 mins meeting with an investor matched for the best fit after the event.
Step 3: We will mention your company’s name and info in our mailing lists which is read by thousands of investors and Mentors. All the investors & Mentors in these lists will receive your contacts and we hope that those interested will get in touch with you directly.
