Discussion: Money in Politics -- The Effects on our Government and on our Country – Are there any Solutions?

Bring your ideas. I think that most will agree that big money plays an inordinate role in politics and government, with its influence on the President, the Congress and their staff, on our State officials and legislature, and even on our local governments.

The Big Money Lobbyists spend billions on their activities and reap multiple billions in return, in tax breaks, lax regulations, government contracts, and on and on.

How do we get our “representatives” and “public servants” to change their ways?

Programs like “60 Minutes” and “Bill Moyers Journal” can help. A few of the one-percenters like Warren Buffet are helping some. Can we achieve public funding of elections? That would help a lot. Should we pay our representatives less or more? The current ones are “not worth a bucket of warm spit”. Should we pay them what they should be worth?
