Beyond Atheism: Humanism as a New Model for Spirituality and Ethics

Our speaker is Joe Moss, who will examine our common understanding of the conceptions of spirituality and ethics. He will attempt to demonstrate that Humanism, not Atheism nor religion, gives us the best models to understand such concepts.
Mr. Moss is a new HAOC member and on the Board as a member-at-large. He holds academic degrees in Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Philosophy, and an MBA. Currently, Joe is a Ph.D candidate at UCR in the Sociology department. Professionally, Joe has spent a few years in the tech startup world where he was a co-founder of an internet company, followed by a couple of years serving as a Chief Information Officer for a well established company. He has a passion for analyzing information from different areas of knowledge and then synthesizing that information into new knowledge and understanding.
