SHENANDOAH NATIONAL PARK
Shenandoah National Park extends along the Blue Ridge Mountains in the U.S. state of Virginia. The Skyline Drive runs its length, and a vast network of trails includes a section of the long-distance Appalachian Trail. Mostly forested, the park features wetlands, waterfalls and rocky peaks like Hawksbill and Old Rag mountains. Shenandoah is home to many bird species, plus deer, squirrels and the elusive black bear. OLD RAG MOUNTAIN
Old Rag Mountain is a 3,284-foot peak near Sperryville, Virginia. Located within Shenandoah National Park, it is famous for its challenging rock scramble and 360-degree panoramic views, making it the most popular hiking destination in the park. Unlike most heavily forested peaks in the Blue Ridge range, Old Rag stands out for its massive, exposed granite boulders and bare summit. [1, 2, 3]
The most common way to experience the mountain is via the highly demanding Old Rag Mountain Loop on AllTrails. [1]

• Distance: ~9.3 to 9.4 miles total
• Elevation Gain: Around 2,600 feet
• Time Required: 6 to 8 hours depending on pace and crowd bottlenecks.
• The Scramble: Around mile 2.5, you will encounter a mile-long third-class rock scramble. You will need both hands free to climb over boulders, slide down tight granite crevices, and negotiate steep rock faces. [1, 2, 3, 4]

LODGING
We will be staying in a vacation house near Shenandoah National Park, with 5 bedrooms, 8 beds (1 king beds, 5 queen/full beds & 2 sofabeds), 4 baths, 1 dedicated workspace, 1 full kitchen & 2 living rooms. We will max out at 15 people. The house is 11 minutes drive to Shenandoah National Park and 42 minutes to Old Rag Mountain.

GERTRUDE'S NOSE AND MILLBROOK MOUNTAIN LOOP
Explore this 6.7-mile loop trail near Kerhonkson, New York. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring.
Gertrude’s Nose Trail travels through dense wooded areas to beautiful views while trekking along various cliff edges and rock formations, starting from Millbrook Mountain all the way to Patterson's Pellet with the main highlight being Gertrude's Nose.

KILLINGTON RESORT
Killington Resort is a ski resort in Rutland County, Vermont, United States, near the town of Killington. It is the largest ski area in the eastern U.S., and has the largest vertical drop in New England at 3,050 feet (930 meters). The mountain has been nicknamed the "Beast of the East." Ski season starts early at Killington, and they usually open ride in either late October or early November (earliest in the east coast), mostly the first to open in the Northeast. MOUNT SNOW MOUNTAIN RESORT
Mount Snow ski area has terrain suitable for all ability types, from gentle beginner slopes to blue cruisers and challenging black diamonds. The resort is known for having great snow making coverage, excellent grooming operations, modern facilities and a comfortable lodge. Skiers and riders have access to 600 acres, serviced by 20 lifts. The Bluebird Express lift, Mount Snow’s six-person bubble lift, transports skiers and riders to the resort’s summit elevation of 3,600 feet. Depart 5:00 PM from NYC: (ViVi Bubble Tea) Corner of 43rd St and 9th Ave New York, NY 10036 (Map) Subway lines (Times Sq-42 St): A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, S.
Depart 6:00 PM from NJ: (NJ Transit Ramsey Route 17) 1 Spring St, Ramsey, NJ 07446 (Map) ) $2 to $4 daily parking at the station's park lot. Meet at the pick-up/drop-off area (indoor) in the back of the parking garage.
Return: Depart from Mount Snow at 3:30 pm on Sunday and expect to arrive at NJ at 9:00 pm, midtown NYC around 9:30 pm & Queens at 10:00 pm

COST (LODGING & TRANSPORTATION)
Early Birds: $299 per person for first 5 spots or before 10/1 whichever comes first. Regular: $339 per person for last 5 spots. $30 per person upgrading from shared queen bed to own single bed.
Trip Includes: 2 nights shared accommodation with a shared queen bed or own single bed with $30 upgrade) at a big house. Round trip transportation from NYC area & tolls, daily transportation between the house & ski resort, & parking fee if any. $10 tips for the van driver is required & will be collected on the returning trip. Lift tickets are not provided with this trip; everyone should get Epic Local Pass or Epic Pass.

LUXURY RIDE
We will provide a fully loaded new MB Sprinter Van or a Volvo XC90 SUV for transportation depending on the group size.

REFUND POLICY:
* Full refund if cancelled within 24 hours of booking
* Full refund minus $40 processing fee if cancelled 30 days in advance
* 50% refund if cancelled within 30 days of the trip
* No refund for cancellation or no show within 15 days of the trip; however, spots can be transferred to your friends with $40 processing fee
* Full refund if the trip is cancelled

TRAVEL INSURANCE:

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in NY Ski & Snowboard Club events and activities, the event participant acknowledges, and agrees that:

1. The risk of injury from the events may be significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,
2. KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and,
3. Willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation; and,
4. Event participant, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS NY Ski & Snowboard Club their officers, officials, agents, and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event, WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
