What we’re about

Wikipedia defines The Internet of Things (IoT) as "the network of devices such as vehicles, and home appliances that contain electronics, software, actuators, and connectivity which allows these things to connect, interact and exchange data." Join us to discuss how this growing field is really changing how we live and work.

We plan to focus on a few areas such as:

• Connected Home Support team: Bring in your devices and/or questions and we can help

• Team Projects: the Machine Learning Davidson group is working on an autonomous boat and could use IoT help, but there are many other examples. Progress reports made back to the group.

• IoT Startup presentation, or company project/initiativeConcepts in IoT: in the form of a "Teach and Learn" on a technology, Lightning talks by a few speakers on a few topics, or Fact/fiction about new concepts

• Think Tank discussions: Exploring issues in various industries and brainstorming technological solutions. Ideas brought by members or guests

We also mirror the monthly (first Tuesday of every month) events of the Charlotte IoT group. See information on those events here:   https://www.meetup.com/Charlotte-Internet-of-Things/

We meet at the Hub in Davidson. Facilitated by Rocus Networks (https://www.rocusnetworks.com/), the Lake Norman IT Professionals (https://www.lknitp.com/) and CommScope (https://www.commscope.com/).
