We are delighted to announce the fourth Budapest IoT Meetup, co-organized by IoTPedia (http://www.iotpedia.com) and Design Terminal.
Schedule: 07:00pm - 07:10pm Welcoming Remarks -Balazs Szabo @szbalazs87 (Founder of IoTPedia, CEO of IoT Labs Ltd.)
07:10pm - 07:30pm From Silicon to Silicone - Adam Scheuring @admsch (Co-founder of @loophealth (https://twitter.com/loophealth), maker of@meshmakers (https://twitter.com/meshmakers). Passionate about digital health, wearable tech, smart sensors, hardware startups and good design.)
Ádám is an engineer and entrepreneur, who has been working with IoT-related low-power embedded systems for almost 10 years. He will talk about his startup story, why he is passionate about ambient intelligence, why he joined Energy Micro (a successful semiconductor startup based in Norway, subsequently acquired by Silicon Labs) and why he decided to move on and start his own consumer medical device company.
07:30pm - 07:50pm Picking an IoT Platform is a Risky Business - Attila J. Török, (Security Engineering Manager at LogMeIn. A crypto enthusiast and wannabe gardener. People tell him he’s slightly paranoid regarding security. Nope, paranoia only applies when the concern isn't justified:))
'Risk Analysis' – hearing this expression can make anyone fall asleep in an instant. But before choosing an IoT platform for your next big connected product success, you need to stop and think about how protected your product will be from the many security threats out there. All IoT platforms are not created equally, so we will discuss some key risk analysis questions such as:
• What type of questions should you ask to help you forecast potential threat?
• How do you decide what level of risk is acceptable?
• Are there any new risk analysis concerns by having a connected product?
In this talk we will learn how to categorize the security of your own information system, and learn the right questions to ask your IoT platform provider before signing on the dotted line.
07:50pm - 08:00pm Introduction to Laborom, a medical test result organiser and patient support platform, Levente Szász, Botond Bálint MD, (Co-founders of Laborom)
The Laborom (http://www.laborom.org) app helps patients with chronic diseases record, track and visually analyse their home medical measurements. Using Laborom patients can understand more about their progress and the nature of their treatment, helping them keep up better with their therapy. Laborom displays the patient's medical history in a way which is acceptable to and supported by health care professionals. Behind the application Laborom's Cloud application can extract data from smart medical devices and wearables.
Currently Laborom has more than 6000 registered patients in 163 countries. They are currently taking part in Digital Factory's accelerator program, focusing on UX and value development, and are preparing to enter the UK and Norwegian markets.
08:00pm - 09:00pm Networking (wine + snacks)
We look forward to meeting you and to bringing together the Budapest-based maker community!
