From the iPod to IoT

Details
Rick Terrell (https://www.linkedin.com/in/terrell) will be our first presenter!
Rick will start with a short introduction on the evolution of IoT from embedded and big data. He will discuss the design of the iPod in the context of the evolution of ARM processors, which are in everything now. He will explain how the iPod was an early IoT device, albeit requiring the last meter to be a Firewire or USB cable. He'll even bring in one of the original iPod software development boards!
He will then focus on the CC 3200 (http://www.ti.com/tool/cc3200-launchxl) launchpad board and walk through a high level demo of getting the internal WiFi access point and web server going so folks could browse into it from their phones and maybe control the LEDs on the board or some other interesting device hooked up to the GPIOs.
Hope to see you all there!
