- Theater night - Amm(i)gone at Woolly MammothWoolly Mammoth Theatre Co, Washington, DC
Let's go to the theater! Woolly Mammoth is performing Amm(i)gone (description from the website):
Creator and performer Adil Mansoor invites his Pakistani mother to translate Antigone into Urdu as means of exploring the tensions between family and faith. Should he keep his queerness buried from his devout Muslim mother? Through Greek tragedy, teachings from the Quran, and audio conversations with his mother, Mansoor creates this theatrical blend of lecture and personal story about locating love across faith.
May 3rd is a special LGBTQIA+ Affinity night. If you'd like to sit with the group, please RSVP to this event by Saturday, February 24th. I will buy a block of tickets that are $44 each. If you RSVP after the 24th, of course you are still VERY welcome to come, but you may need to buy your own ticket that may or may not be next to the group seats. Please feel welcome to comment or send me a private message if you have questions or want to learn more (this is a bit more complicated set-up than our events usually are).
If folks are feeling up to it, we can also grab a drink or dessert after the show and debrief!
