Details
On 24 August 2017, the most important, and controversial update on Bitcoin got activated. SegWit which stands forSegregated Witness.
Even though it solved a serious problem Bitcoin had(transaction malleability) the update created a lot of drama resulting even in death threats to the creators.
All of the drama was called the Block Wars and it ended with the community splitting into two and the update being activate via a UASF(User Activated Soft Fork).
Adam will explain to us what is a witness who is segregated and what changes the update brought and how this changed the way we do Bitcoin transactions.
Adam is one of the main maintainers and developers of JoinMarket.
He has been an open-source contributor since 2014 focusing on Bitcoin projects.
