What we’re about

East Bank Havurah is an egalitarian fellowship of people of diverse backgrounds and ages seeking to practice Judaism in a joyful participatory manner. Spiritual growth, as individuals and as a community, is the cornerstone of our group. We take turns leading services and encourage members to expand their participation at their own pace. The Havurah usually meets the 1st & 3rd Saturday mornings and 2nd & 4th Friday evenings each month as well as a monthly Shabbat afternoon text study and for most holidays.  We were formed more than 40 years ago with the inspiration and guidance of Rabbi Zalman Shachter Shalomi, זצ״ל. We currently meeting virtually via Zoom as well as in-person (when someone volunteers to host).
